I Ran to College

Eighteen miles. That’s how far it is from my house to Middlebrook, the residence hall where I’ll be staying this semester at the University of Minnesota.

At no point did I question whether or not I could actually do this–I’d been on runs around sixteen miles a few times before and felt fine. But I had no idea what shape I’d be in at the end.

The first half went by extremely quickly–I was feeling good, and the roads were pretty well-suited for running. As I got closer to Minneapolis and the last few miles, it got a bit trickier to navigate and keep a steady pace.

But in the end, I made it with time to spare! The total time clocked in at just a little under two hours, which was my goal. All things considered, I’m very happy with how this went, and pleasantly surprised at how good I felt afterwards.
